NAMI Basics is a 6 week ( 2 1/2 hrs. each week) course that offers in depth information and support for family and friends who have a child or teen with a mental illness. It offers much of the information in Family-to-Family but also includes information needed to navigate educational issues.
Our Education Programs are offered free of charge thanks to NAMI and funding by the Geauga Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services.
Understanding Mental Illness
Understanding Mental Illness is a 5 week ( l 1/2 hrs each session) introductory class offering education and support for family members and friends affected by a loved one's mental illness. Class members may want to then take the Family-to-Family Class to learn even more.
NAMI education classes are designed to offer information and support

Parents and Teachers as Allies
We will bring Parents and Teachers as Allies to your staff or PTA meeting. This is a slide show and panel presentation that offers mental health information and tips for classroom integration to teachers and/or parents. Presenters are trained family members and a young adult in recovery.
